Storyline Warriors of Virtue: The Return to Tao
Warriors of Virtue: The Return to Tao is a 2002 fantasy martial arts film and sequel to the 1997 film Warriors of Virtue. Warriors of Virtue: The Return to Tao (set a few years after the original film) sees a new villain, Dogon, seize control of Tao, a parallel universe forming the film's major setting. On Earth, 12–year–old Ryan and his friend Chucky arrive at a martial arts competition in Beijing, whereupon they are unexpectedly taken to Tao. There, it is shown that they are to become Warriors of Virtue.

What they aren't prepared for is a return trip to Tao, a parallel universe now controlled by the villainous Dogon. While in Tao, Ryan and Chucky get a lesson in what it means to be a Warrior of Virtue as they endure rigorous training and ruthless attacks. But before they can restore peace to Tao, they must defeat Dogon once and for all.
Warriors of Virtue 2: Return to Tao is not completely a bad sequel, but it would have been nice to see the kangaroo warriors in the original film return. Yet on the flip side, the fight scenes are not nauseating and are easier on the eye. Worth at least a rental.
Produced five years after the original WARRIORS OF VIRTUE but not released in North American until almost a decade afterwards, RETURN TO TAO is the remarkably low-key sequel to one of the more exotic mid-'90s nostalgia classics that no one was expecting.
